H2X Typhoon discharging batteries?

I have owned my H"X typhoon torch for nearly three years now and have had great use out of it for work and at home.

I recently used it whilst sweeping my chimneys resulting in the torch getting quite dirty. I rinsed the torch under the tap with soap to clean as it is water resistant.

I have the feeling that since then the batteries in the torch are discharging whilst the torch is not in use.

Has anyone ever had this problem.

I've noticed that if the batteries are low (when I get the flicker warning starting) if I then leave the torch and come to use it maybe a day later it is totally flat.

I'm sure that before I hardly ever actually changed the batteries because they were completely flat but that the beam power would lower itself and flicker letting me know power was low.

Any help or comments appreciated.

Thanks

Daniel

The H2X Typhoon is the same flashlight as the Gladius. Premature battery drain was a known problem with some of the Gladius lights.

You can read more about it at this link.

Thanks for that link.

Interesting that the problem seems to have developed recently.

I'll check my batteries with my multimeter. They are Energizer Lithium, same as I've always used. Might have just got an old/dodgy batch though.

Cheers

Daniel
