Went to Sears yesterday to break down and buy an Arc White (which I did, and a very good performance it was indeed as I staggered up to the flashlight display rack on my knees in full view of the store video cameras, repeatedly muttering under my breath, "There's no such thing as Flashoholism -- there's no such thing as Flashoholism") -- when I noticed right next to the Arc White there was a special deal sale display going on with a battery storage rack that accommodated at least eight, and up to twelve, of all common sizes, from AAA up through D, as well as space for four 9 volt batteries.

At the top there was a basic battery tester with three red, amber, and green indicator leds, and a separate twin-contact test area for 9 volt batteries (also connected to the same 3 leds), I could not keep the black cover (under which the tester is hidden) in the upswung position while simultaneously taking the picture (I already had it firmly mounted to the wall after rushing home last night). This rack sold for $10.99, but the kicker that made me throw it into the cart along with the Arc White was that it came with twelve Sears "DieHard" alkaline AAs packed inside:

Considering Sears sells their DieHard-brand AAs for around a buck apiece according to the prices I observed on the packaged batteries on the shelf, it was like I got the rack and tester for free.

Just an interesting diversion from the usual ho-hum drudgery of getting a new light...

It kind of looks like a "candy machine", only for batteries... The perfect acessory for the well equiped flashaholic.
