Hi,

Ive just seen that Lupine have released a 1100 lumen diy upgrade for the Wilma lamp they manufacture.

Has anyone on here with a 2009 920 lumen wilma (with integrated pcs) performed the upgrade? If so are you able to offer an opinion as to if it is a worthwhile upgrade please?

I understand the upgrade uses CREE XP-G emitters which seem to have mixed things said about them on here. I dont find my wilma lacking to be honest, but if it is a good noticable upgrade then I would do it.

Thanks.

Hi, I just did this.
Of course, it works and it's a bit brighter but there are a few drawbacks due to the fact that the new lens array is slightly thicker:
1- you have to remove the o-ring
2-even without it, a small gap subsists between the lens cap and the housing.

I just emailed lupine to ask them if they will design a new lens cap for the
thicker lens array. I don't know if simply ordering a lens cap for the new wilma
will do it.

Francois.

Update : problems solved

I finally managed to eliminate the gap between the lens cap and the housing : stupidly, I idn't remove the good o-ring (you have to remove the one on the cap, not the other). A mail from lupine informed me that the removal of this o-ring doesn't affect water resistance.
And I must add , after switching the emitters a couple of time, that it's quite brighter than the original. Worth the 90 euros I paid for it !

Great, thabnks for taking the time to reply. I had forgotten that I had posted this, but notw that its getting dark again I remembered about the upgrade.

I asume the o-ring you removed was the one between the bezel and the lens?
