Have ? Solarforce L2M Short R2

Whats weird is my label thats around the outside of the reflector when I take it out only says SOLARFORCE R2-M and thats it and then its engraved in the aluminum and says the same thing no Voltage requirements. My rcr123 should be here tommorrow and Im gonna get the body that takes an 18650 that should really help it out.

What I would like to know is if the L2MINI is regulated with a 3.7V RCR123 and if yes for how long time ?
Anybody knows ?

Im looking forward to getting the Ultrafire 502B R-2 5 mode so I can compare it to the Solarforce . So far Im very happy with the Solarforce and it's quality , just wish they would not put in the flashing modes , they suck so hard !

Sure , some flashy's are for Bikes , but how bout a flashy thats just a flashy ? Perhaps we should send a petition to Solarforce , no flashing modes ! :crackup:

So I picked up one of these kits:

It arrived and I tossed in a set of Surefire 123's with the L2 body and the light fired right up. Switched to the single cell L2m body and a seperate fresh Surefire 123 and got nothing. Tried a few others and still no light. Am I not getting any light with the Surefire's because they are regulated to 3 volts?

This has been discussed in the other threads. 3V is not enough. You're gonna need bit more than that to light up the bulb. Use 16340 rechargable.

This is what I got with my solarforce R2 single mode.

No "solarforce' engraved, no purple/blue sticker like ernsanada's has. The retaining ring and contact spring is crome/silver. As you see, this module I got with my solarforce looks as generic as it gets.

Machining on mine is rough than yours or is it my old camera?

Anyway, the beam from this module is just like the pic ernsanada has shown above.
I am not sure it can take 18V or not, but it surely takes 3.7~8.4V and the beam brightness is almost the same to my eyes. Build quaility and soldering is pretty nice and clean.

And...

This is DX R2 module sku 11836.
The color of retaining ring that is bit fleamsy and contact spring is gold, and the sticker said "super bright R2". Note that the driver board has been replaced with another driver I already got.

From what I gather, the module appearance can vary. I have yet to ever see a colored Solarforce sticker like ernsanada's, more often I see a sticker that just says "Solarforce" on them. I suspect that with many of the Solarforce dealers that the price you pay for your L2 is directly correlated to the grade of P60LED module you get. Ebay dealer Flashlight Express is an authorized Solarforce dealer, so you are getting legit stuff from them. Anyway, I think you do need at least 3.6V to get the module working.
