many of us here at CPF are big fans of Henry and HDS. I own a few of the older HDS EDC lights as well as a recently aquired hds 140lumen version on closeout from battery station. prior to that I called Henry and ordered a SAPPHIRE lens ($30 extra) HIGH CRI twisty for $180 shipped. Shortly after the newer 140 lumen version arrived I could not tell which was which as I didnt record serial numbers.
At that point I called Henry. He Cheerfully answered the phone (very cool BTW) and expianed that a YELLOW RING INSIDE HEAD would indicate a 140 version.
Sure enough the light I was holding has yellow. Unfortunately didn't check the older $180 HDS high CRI while we were on the phone. I just did and much to my great dismay it's the same as the other one!!!
I have NO WAY of knowing if I have a SAPPHIRE lens. Yet I now know
, by Henry's own guidelines, that by all apparent indications I didnt get what I paid for. It's Friday evening now so HDS is closed until Monday. I hope to hear from Henry ASAP. because right now I feel like a chump:shakehead
If anyone out there actually owns a HIGH CRI version could you tell me the color of the ring inside the emitter???
