IIRC it seems to be a problem with led lights. Can I fix it or does it need to go back?

I have a few questions for you. What headlamp is it, and are they fresh batteries? From what I remember some headlamps flicker if the batteries are dying.

It's a tikka plus. I bought it new and the batteries came out of the package. The flickering is minimal, but noticeable.

could be you have very sensitive eyes and the flickering is just part of the way the light works ???
just making a guess

The Tikka and Zipka plus versions do use PWM and some people can nitice it.
I have only noticed it when other people using it and one or us both are moving heads.
There also was/is a Princeton Tec Aurora lamp which had a flicker every second or so, only very slightly but very annoying when reading a book (no problem when cooking or similar). It kept me from buying one. PT justified it as an energy saving measure, which was a very silly excuse. Does anybody know if this issue is fixed now? Otherwise it would have been superior to the Tikka in almost any way.

Beleive I found my problem, the battery lid wasn't secured completely. Slightly off it's hinge.
