Headlamps at DealExtreme

Which ones take a Cree star?

I just started (bike) riding with an Elly flashlight strapped to my helmet, and I'm hooked. Do these headlamps work well on a helmet mount?

This one here appears to use the same LED as the Elly. I know that in the case of the Elly, the Cree LED could simply be dropped in, and was already at the correct focus. Any of the headlamps though that use the 1W single LEDs should be compatible with Cree LEDs though. I just added one of their headlamps to my order and plan to try this out myself.

Please post your results. I am curious about this mod.

I ordered the same headlamp, but intend to mod it with a SSC P4 U bin emitter. I do not know if the light is regulated, but being a 2 AA model, it is likely. If not, then I'll simply add a driver circuit to make good use of the AA cells.
