Hello from the Night Owl in North Idaho

Well I thought this would be as good of place as any for my first post. I'm a machinist here in North Idaho. I work Swing shift and have always had a thing for lights. So now I want to start building/modding my own. I'm in the basic newb stage so any advice or links would be greatly appreciated. I would like my work to be focused on LED setups and possibly HID down the road.

The first project that I would like to do is make my own torch/flashlight from the ground up excluding the electrical components. Eventually I'd like to build some custom LED fog/driving lights for my car, but I'd like to get some basics down before I jump into that.

Right now I'm looking for information on Lens/reflector setups and basic to moderate electrical setups.

I hope to contribute as much as I can to the group here

Thanks for the warm insane welcome. I'm kinda in the planning stages of acquiring parts and was wondering where everyone got their parts from. I see a lot of links to DX. I was looking at ledsupply.com and they seemed to have a pretty good selection of LEDs and Lenses but their prices were a bit higher.
