I thought about the high current possibility causing the d2Flex FET burnout. But I don't think that's the cause.
The setup uses a hipCC buck converter. When running 2xLi-ion to a P7 running at 2.8A, the hipCC will probably call for roughly 1/2 of that current value, or around 1.4A, far below the 3.4A rating of the d2Flex.
