i just cant afford this hobby any longer so im going to get one last . id love one that is the brightest running on a aa alkaline cell. id love it to be small. i dont like high cri stuff. im more into arond 6500 k.id like to spend around 40 bucks

I ordered a Fenix e20 v2 today. What is attractive is that it is really short for a 2aa light. It looks nice. Always start on low at 5lumen. It can be a really nice EDC light for me, being a lot thinner than 18650 lights. Check it out for yourself. I bought it for $32 from Fenix lighting

If you want something similar to tool, check out sofirn sf14. I love it. Three modes, always come on in low, which is a few lumens. I do not need moonlight mode. 5-10 lumens work perfect for me.

Buy two Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 lights and a pack of NiMH batteries and a charger. You'll be all set for the next 10 years.

Well, anyway, adnj's advice looks very good. I started with three Mini Mags and two packs of NiMH and two chargers, and I gave them to friends that were not ready for Li ion.

I like the Fenix E12 but it may not be what Raggae is wanting. In triple A I like the new Fenix E01. That and a generous supply of ultimate lithium batteries.
