Hi guys,

I need your help in finding me a torch. I have a few torches for different purposes but now I want something that will stun people by the sheer amount of light that it puts out, something at least 1000 lumens+.

I do not want a thrower, instead something that is floody. I would prefer that it would runs on 18650 batteries as I already have these and a good charger but am willing to consider other battery options. Also, I do not want something that it too long. I have seen some of the 3/4 C custom torches but they are too long at 30cm+, anything smaller I am willing to consider. Custom built is fine by me and my budget is also around the $300 mark. Will this limit me?

What I have considered so far:

Xtar D30 Howitzer - Missed out on presale so waiting for it to be on sale
Elektrolumen torches e.g. MCE III Mag dropin/Blaster- Too long

Email Xtar, somebody just drop out.

For a 'stun people with a sheer amount of light' flashlight, I have found that, for a specific amount of lumens, a smaller light seems far more impressive. Thinking along these lines, I'd go with a WA1111 in a SureFire 6P w/ 2xIMR 16340, or a WA1185 in a SureFire 9P with 3x IMR 16340, for starters. Runtimes will be short (~5-10 minutes, other folks know more on this topic), but you don't mention runtime being a consideration.

For me, I find that a P7 LED in my single-cell SureFire E1 on 1xIMR for ~500 lumens is pretty impressive for its size, and is perhaps more practical??

My two lumens, FWIW,
K

Here you go...

The Surefire Beast II 2000+ lumens

It could be yours................for the low low price of $5,000 USC!

P.S. Don't forget to buy the 20 123a batteries that it takes. :p

Run time is important and I am looking for something that would last about the 45mins to 1 hour mark. My knowledge of electronics is basic and so is my ability to do mods, hence I am looking for a turn key light. Add batteries and go terrorise the neighborhood!

Modamag Tk Monster.

15k lumens.

I have one

Theres a used one for sale in the custom B/S/T right now

The TK monster is Ginormous! It makes the Surefire M6 looks like a keychain light. :D I wish I could see one in person.

nailbender SST90 + 6P/D
almost 1K lumens but pocketable

one of my homies using mine at a bday dinner,
he is like damn this is almost like mini flashbang
haha

+1 to the nailbender sst-90 and a 6P bored for an 18650, the LED is underpowered so you don't hafta worry about heat buildup, and its putting out somewhere between 650 and 900 lumens (not that it matters its stunning bright) awesome idea and still pocketable (i have one and its omazing)
