I've decided that I want a headlamp. I'm fairly familer with the flashlights, but haven't researched what's out there for headlamps. I'm hoping the experts here can help me out on my needs.

Price ...under $100

I'll be using this for fishing walleye's at night. basically I want to be hands free for the late night bite.

I would like to have both a spot and flood beam. The brighter, the better, especially for the spot. I would like to have a good flood too. (I guess I want the best of both worlds)

Batteries must be in the front. Do any headlamps use RCR's? ... I'm really open to any type, 3 AAA, 1AA, 1 -123 (would like to use nihm)

A couple of the options I looked at:

1) BD spot....seems well reviewed here and a good price...I'm leaning on this one so far. What kind of led is in here?

2) Browing rebel nitro.....seems good too, but looks heavy (4 bat)

Do the zebralights have a spot? ... are they comfortable to wear?

Any suggestions/ comments would be great

thanks

No, Zebralights are (so far...) pure floodlights. That said, according to their website, the H50, and H60 have 120* flood pattern, the H30, and the H501, a 80* flood pattern. Really good if working in a confined space, close up, but otherwise, nah, not that great (depending upon who you are).
Zebralight has been saying that they are retooling to produce their newest light, the H51 (basically a reflectored version of the H50/501), which should have a tighter beam.
