After a bunch of searching, I'm not really sure what headlamp to get.

Here is what I need/want (see edit below - after doing a bunch of research - H50, H501w, or OTHER)

FLOOD - I don't give a darn about throw, the light is going to be used to light the inside of electronic rack cabinets while I'm working in them - basically - I want a NICE even beam at say 2-5 ft - that's IT

Color - as best as possible - reading color codes on wires with bad color rendition is well, bad

Batteries - AA/AAA or CR123 is prefered

OH - Must work when you have glasses on

Price? I'd LIKE to keep it under 3 digits, but would actually be willing to go into that range!

I've gotten sick of holding my EDC 60 in my teeth while working in the back of the racks

EDIT:
OK - seems like the "hot" light is the Zebralights - Now the question - the H50q5 (with the 120 deg beam) or the H501W, with only an 80 deg beam - I REALLY like the idea of the 120 deg beam, but trying to find a H50 is kinda hard, and I prefer the warm tint

The only place that I know of that sells new H50's is the Zebralight company store. All the US-based dealers only have the H501 for some reason.

The 50's color rendition isn't bad, but the 501w's is better. If you're working in a cabinet. light's going to be reflecting off the sides, too, so the wider flood won't be a big advantage in this case. 501w's a good choice.

I just ordered a 501W, so...

Good choice there. H501 I have and like, but better tint my Maratac has. Yellowish tint I like more than white tint. Come back and tell us you will?

So, the light showed up yesterday. So far, very very happy - good color rendition, and the medium setting is more than bright enough for what I'm doing.
