HELP! Nitecore Extreme or Surefire E2DL?

Looking for a self-defense light that is not too bulky in the pocket. I'm more concerned with the thickness of the light over the length. So these two lights are about the same in terms of thickness. But I do like the compact length of the Nitecore Extreme.
But I do want it bright, and I want it well made. I like how the E2DL is simpler to use, but I see that the the Nitecore Extreme is almost as bright.
Will the Nitecore Extreme fit comfortably in a closed fist?

If I were you I'd get the e2dl for

purposes, just because it's long enough to expose the head and switch at the same time.

I recently got both. I got the Extreme with the stainless crenelated bezel. I prefer the E2DL, but admittedly did not carry it until I paired it with a vital gear bezel-down body. Now I prefer it in my pocket.

I do like the extreme low capability of the Nitecore, though when I carry it I leave the bezel fully tightened so it will start on high. I have used the Nitecore a few times on very low setting for late night bathroom trips. And, I have smaller hands, so it makes a decent fist weapon for me.

One reason I got the E2DL first was I also have the Surefire backup, and wanted to use the E2DL's tailcap on it.

I say go for the E2DL first, especially if you have an Surefires that can use the body parts. Then, next payday, get the Nitecore....8-}

For the E2DL I use the FB-2 body. I actually have the body in HA, but TODAY I get to go to the post office to pick up my HA-black FB-2 that I ordered from Hong Kong. It will be a better match for the E2DL head....Jeff.

This post is just what I needed, since I just started considering adding an E2DL to my lineup.

However, there doesn't seem to be a lot of info running around on this light, like how's the beam shape, user feedback on the UI, true runtime plots, reviews, etc.

Is this a light the CPFers love, ignore or hate?

BTW, any reputable on-line shop that ships these to Europe? By reputable I mean a seller that will have the latest version, not some old stock version, eventually someone I can ask to personally verify a clean beam and tint.

(For the record, my owned Surefires are a 6P and C2 both with Cree drop-ins, a still original G2, and an L1.)

What's the ano on the VG bodies?

Claims to be HA III. Ive had a FB-1 and FB-2 in HA for a year now, carry them ocassionally in the pockets (with clip), with keys, etc. going in and out too, and they still look new. Here's a link to retailer I used for 2 orders. Registered airmail was $5 to me in Fort Worth. Took about 2 weeks:

Yes. The Extreme head fits on the FB2 body. I don't know about working on that cell though, since I don't own any.
