<<Flashlight noob here to ask you guys a question/for help. I bought this from dx (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26497) a week or so ago. It arrived today in the mail. I purchased it with these http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8683. The flashlight works just fine, it's VERY bright. ONE problem. While it's on, it makes a constant high-pitched ringing/whining sound??? Is this a common issue and is this something that can be easily fixed? Or should I go through the process of returning it and getting a new one, in which case, I will have to wait probably another month to get it?? Any help is very appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi there! I have exactly the same light and batteries from DX. Yes mine also makes the same sound. I also tried an AW 16340 cell in it and the sound remains so I guess that's the way it is :thumbsdow
You're right - it's really bright. But it warms up pretty quick so be careful not to have it on high for too long :poof:
Enjoy the light!

I have the same light also. I've only ever run it with Energizer or Duracell CR123A primaries. I don't get a whine on high, however I do get a whine on med. Never tried with a rechargable.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! I guess I feel better knowing that it's not just mine. I still love the light, and I am going to just have to overlook it! I'm just using it to find addresses in the dark, since I deliver pizza! :) So no worries about it being on high for very long!

If you are lost and need light at full power, the good thing is that you can keep pizzas warm with your flashlight...too bad for the LED/driver but professionalism and 1st quality service first. :D

I have a same light, using AW RCR123, never get whine on high/med/strobe.

It sounds like PWM at least when it's on medium or low. I don't have any lights where I can hear it but it's pretty common for some PWM light to have that sound.

I have the same light but bought from BOB and 5 modes it's PWM.
I do not have the high pitched noise.

I was lucky.
