I'm trying to convert my 918FA (Shotgun dedicated fore-end) into a handheld model. The 918FA is basically an M3 with a shortened body that only holds two cells, with the 3rd cell being housed in the fore-end (H18A?). After doing some searches, I came across a few threads regarding different "housing assemblies" (extenders?), namely the A12, A21, and A19. I already have 3 G2's and a 6-P, so the tailcap won't be a problem...I just need help as to which housing assy. to get to house the 3rd cell, and attach the tailcaps to, turning my 918FA into a handheld, "Urban M-3". I want to get the right one the first go, so if anybody has alot of SF know-how, or has tried this, any help would be greatly appreciated. Which Housng assy. do I need? :help:

You might consider getting a proper M3 body for it. Have a look in the Marketplace BST - people sometimes sell a body and tailcap without the head, or you could post a WTB.

You'd have to measure the exact length required...
It's pretty tough to say without basically everything to test with.
If the length needed is exactly one cell and the back end is c-tailcap compatible, the A19 would work. You'd also need a tailcap to go with it then.
The A19 extends C and M series lights by one cell.
However, since I'm not sure that it's exactly the correct length and the weapon lights might have custom lengths that makes them incompatible with regular surefire accessories, there'll be the risk of basically buying a paperweight til it sells on cpfm.

Thanks Size-15...I ordered the A21 from opticsplanet yesterday. I'm assuming my 6-P or a G-2 tail cap will work? The millenium and original series are the same diameter and use the same threading? Thanks again, mate!

The G2 TailCap may not work but the 6P TailCap will definitely work.
(BTW, the pedant in me has say there's no '-' in 6P/G2/A2 etc)
