So I modified my G2 with a 3000K SSC P4 and put a two level 1amp 7135 driver in it to be powered by a 17670. The final piece is a forward clicky to replace the momentary on twisty.

Problem is the clicky is sticking. Momentary works fine, but the problem is when I click to on and then go to click off the switch sticks in the on position. I can get the clicky to go in the off position just by messing with it for a bit.

My question is what can I do with this switch to make it work smoother? The malfunction does not occur with every click but with enough clicks to make it annoying and the light not reliable.

Can I apply some oil here? Any ideas or experiences please would be welcome.

Mods- if this is in an inappropriate place please move. I thought since this light is modified this might be the place to post.

Issue resolved.

I thought I would add some pics to show the malfunction:

I think the button has to go through the full range all the way down to come back up so I don't think it would work plus I have no idea how to implement your suggestion. I ordered a mcclicky today from electronguru so once I get that ill try some things with this clicky unit like applying oil for lack of a better idea.

I had a stock SF clicky tail that did this. I just "worked it in" and it started acting fine after that. By that I mean I clicked it a bunch, very firmly. It did seem to need a break in, now I know yours is not a SF clicky but sounds like the same problem I had.

Also, Dan(ElectronGuru) is a good guy to deal with, he would probably send you a new one if needed. He warranties he stuff.

Thanks for the offer PCC, but netkidz is sending me a replacement gratis, great customer service. I am going to see if I can get it apart and look at the innards to see what went wrong with this switch. The other one I have works great.

netkidz responded to my inquiry about this switch and said clicking it a bunch of times in a row could actually cause the switch to fail. I assume he means in very rapid succession. I thought about trying to get it to "work in" but it was sticking so much I gave up.

sorry I guess I misread that you got this clicky from Dan, but you got it from Netkidz...oops.

yeah you cant really beat on them when they are stuck in, you got to get them to pop back out, but I guess that was your main prob!

glad its taken care of.
