I have some Mags that I would like to make useful, any idea's on new bulb's or easy Mod's?
They are
6D
5D
3C
2C

The 5D & 6D should soon be able to be converted to the 5W LS. Take the 3C & send it to Wayne to make it a direct drive LS. For the 2C.....well, 3 out of 4 ain't bad.

6D Mag torch...that is one big torch!
Most of the torches you mention have been modified to use Luxeon's!
The easiest mods you can do on these is to fit a drop-in PR Based LED bulb; these are available from LED Tronics Inc; this allows you to revert back to filament operation should you really want to.
You can of course modify PR Bulbs yourself using discrete LED's and resistors.
If you want to modify your torches to Luxeon LED operation, there are plenty of torchaholics who will help you in your quest; Electrolumens and Lambda have got plenty of examples of Luxeon modified Mags, including the Hydra XP4, presently the planet's brightest LED torch.
It would be interesting for someone to come up with a mod for that huge 6D mag! This is definitely not the torch for the shy reclusive torchaholic! Maybe 5 Luxeons, or a 4 * 5W Luxeon torch! In a 6D, you have 9 volts and a lot of Ampere-hours to draw upon, so it's worth making a mod which will gfive you some serious illuminating power, particularly as the torch is so heavy and battery hungry!

I don't think 6D's would drive 4 5W Luxeon's. You'ld have to use rechargeables, which would work good, because the voltage would be about right for a direct drive. TX

Hey while we have the MAG geniusses all gathered (And I am not trying to steal the topic, if the answer is yes I will devote a whole other topic to it) umm, is it possible to convert the Keychain Mag or is it too small to do anything with?

Oh yea, putting an LED in a Mag Solitaire has to be one of the most popular mods, you read about those quite frequently on CPF; search for "solitaire" in LED forum.

The Solitaire mod to beat is this one:

Satcure [circuit] in Solitaire by yclo. Pretty darn amazing.

What about just making them brighter and not going LED?

I don't think you'll ever get the thing as bright as an Arc AAA by leaving it incandescent. At least not for long...

Ok, havent been here long but all I've read is about "Mini Mag" which I have come to inperpret as AA model, is SOLITARE the official name for the AAA model because I thought that was part of the company name?

What can I say? It's the only Mag I own (Not for long, I've decited I need a Opalec mod mag light now...I really need to stop coming here) and I thought that was part of the company name.

Actually, the company name is MAG Instruments. They make a line of Flashlights they call MAGLITEs.

The Maglite Solitaire is a single-AAA flashlight.

There are two Mini Maglites - one which takes two AAA cells, and one which takes two AA cells.

Then they have another 1 AAA that looks like a a minimag but only 1 AAA battery in size. What do they call that one? TX
