Hello! I am looking at selecting one of three high power LED stars:
1. Cree MC-E
2. Endorstar with Luxeon Rebel LED's
3. Luxeon K2 star
I am new to this so pardon my stupidity in advance. But I like these three because of the extreme brightness per start (>280 lumens and the MC-E at 430!!!)
I ordered some of them from www.ledsupply.com and have started tinkering. I also ordered an "off the shelf driver", the Advance electronics constant current supplies.
My main question is, what is the best way to drive multiple of these? I need to drive 20-30 of them. I am confused by the most efficient method (series, parallel or both). The other catch, I want to drive these using an off the shelf driver. It can be a buck driver because I plan on simply putting a AC cord on the driver and plugging it into the wall. The two I ordered made by Advance electronics is a 350mA and a 700mA that are only rated at 12Watts and 17Watts respectively. Therefore, I don't believe those drivers will drive 20-30 of them. It does two of them really well.
Can anybody help educate me on how to wire these up and select a driver? I have a feeling that it may not be able to be done with one driver and if that is the case, I am okay with running multiple drivers to light up all 20-30 if that is the case.
Thanks in advance!!!
Mike
