Me and fellow member Conte have been doing alot of talking about high current magD switches here recently and I have only found a few posts of people that have put rocker style switches in D cell mags. Some of which are rather vague.

Does anyone have any pics of mods they have done with this style setup? i get how it operates and functions i would like a better way to secure the switch in the light other than a form of adhesive or a hole drilled in the side of it.

the setup i was looking to use this for was the 64458 at a little over 19v and drawing about 10amps

yea ive seen that thread, very neat design. i was looking for something a little more simple like the rocker switch type idea.

i was thinking earlier after i got to looking at one of my mag switches, what if you were to drill a hole down through the switch, run your pos wire through it and solder it to spring on the bottom of mag switch? this would bypass the thin metal contacts inside the switch and still let u retain you factory style switch and ground.

Anybody tried this, or know if it would even work? Im sure it would work i just dont know if the light would stay on all the time or not, not for sure if the switch is controlled by ground or pos.

yea ive seen the judco mods before, but if im not mistaken these switches are only rated for 14v, unless they make diff models that i dont know of that can handle more volts?

some of the high current mag mods ive seen on here have a 14v 10a judco, looks like the highest current they offer according to their website.

yea that post was the subject of a long running conversation between me and conte, looks like it may be the best option.
