Thought I would share with you all a project I put together using the
Neutral-White 300 Lumen EndorStar 3-up LXML-PWN1-0100 biased at 700 mA (rated at 540 lumens) and Optimal XIV Star Series Warm White OV14ZWW-3 biased at 1.4 Amps (rated at 500+ Lumens). I mounted all this on a 3-Way bulb connector and PVC pipe and side mounted a dual constant current circuit supplying seperate curret to each LED on an old Pentium II heat sink cut into 2 pieces.

Measured current is about 740 mA for the EndorStar at about 9.28 volts and the Optimal is at about 1.35 amps 9.17 volts.

Temperature of the dual heat sink is about 80 deg C for the higher current device and about 68 deg C for the smaller device. The current source CMOS Q-FET are running at a blistering 144 deg C and 110 deg C respectively. Max for the QFET is 175 deg C and for each of the LEDs is 150.

The constant current devices and LEDs are operated by an old laptop brick outputing 16.75 volts at 7.5 amps - plenty to play with

Measured light output using cheap Cen Tech meter is 625 Lux for the Optimal and 784 Lux for the Endor and total light output is about 1450 Lux. Measured at about 2.5 feet (my roof).

The 3 way bulb connector gives me option for Neutral light output, warm white or both together it gives me a nice sunlight like feel.

Heres a couple of pics showing the final project - I connected a std AC plug outlet to the power supply brick so I can run the device on an un modified corner wall lamp

Not sure where to post this (NSWTPT)
I'm trying to get someone to retrofit a vintage table lamp that currently hosts two bipin halogen bulbs (12V) and I'd like to redo it for LED's . I don't really do complex modding but will gladly compensate you if you can. Shoot me a PM maybe?

Cool project!

Shouldn't this be in the "fixed lighting" section of this forum though?

Also DiodeHead, could you go into more detail about the CC circuits you used, and do you have any shots of the light installed?
