Looking for some help here for a holster for a recently acquired surefire E2L. I have been looking and searching on the posts here for about two hours now, so i think i know what i'm looking for but haven't quite come across it yet_at least not yet on the posts,
This is my first "real" flashlight, i am very used to carrying my minimag with its nylon holster on my hip now for the last two years or so for work. I am accustomed to the light hanging low off my belt and not high jabbing me in my love handle. So a few requirements that i'm looking for, and having my fingers crossed that someone out there can help me out:
1) preferably a leather holster, nylon would be second choice,
2) i prefer to carry it bezel up, like the minimag that i'm already used to-a quick draw is not necessary
3) I don't want it to pivot
4) looking for a sewn in leather permanent belt loop so i can just slide it on my belt, don't want a clip style
5) I guess i would have it similarly designed like my leather leatherman holster, just tough, non-moving, low hanging....
6) would prefer for the leather to cover most of the light and not have a "thru" design where the bottom half of the light just hangs out in the open
custom is ok, since its a purchase that will last for years if not decades
Thanks again in advance, for your posts....
PS thanks Carrot for the advice on my first surefire, i found the E2L single stage with the KX2 head, should be perfect for work.....

i've made a nylon for my Inova X5T, it shares a diameter close to Surefire E2L.

made of seatbelt strap. used a sewing machine. but manually operated to prevent needle from snapping. it rather thick material. 1 time straight, to get the position right & another zigzag to re-enforce the stitches.

I would talk to Lifter. Don't know if he has an E2L but he is willing to make leather sheaths for pretty much anything. http://www.liftersleather.com/

He has a well established reputation in the knife community for his sheaths, for both fixed blades and folding knives.

I agree with you on the belt clip.

I have a very nice nylon holster with a velcro over flap that fits my G2 to a 'T'. I picked it up in the LEO section of an army/navy surplus store in Detroit for I think about $7. Unfortunately, all it has for ID is a small tag that says BCC, so I can't help you there.

Niteize has some cases that look pretty good

You might mean the label says BBC (not BCC). If so, it was made by the Big Bag Manufacturing Co. in California. I have several BBC holsters, some purchased at a local army/navy store and others from BagDepot http://bagdepot.com/index.htm (web site is not taking orders now).

The BBC cordura holsters are very well made and inexpensive.

If you have this one:

You can make the leather wet, preferably with hot water, it makes the leather soft, and you can widen the gap to accommodate a Surefire E2 body.
Wrap some thin plastic around the body, shrink plastic for cowering food is good, and carefully work the body down the wet holster.
When the leather is dry, you can put your light down there without the plastic wrapping.
The lower part of the light does not stick out of the bottom. so no problem there.
