for a surefire e2L cree that will also hold the f04 beam diffuser i plan on getting.

holding 2 xtra cr123a's would be a bonus but not needed.

any suggestions?

I use the SureFire V-21, as recommended on their web site. This holster was obviously made for the 6p/g2 etc. (because it fits the fatter battery tube perfectly) but it is the one they recommend for the E2L also. Although the E2L "swims" in the sheath the flap closure fits nicely over the light with the beamshaper in place on it.

I am surprised that SF does not sell a velcro holster that was made specifically for the 2 cell E series lights, and am equally disappointed that the V-82 recommended for the L1 is really made for the Incan E series lights. The L1 is a tight fit in the V-82.

The V-82 is a tight fit for the new shorter L1 Cree. I originally bought it for my old L1 - and it really didn't fit at all even though Surefire specified that was the right match. I find that the V21 fits the L1 (old and new) pretty well, as well as an L4 (based on E2L with a different head). Because of the excess flap, it will have no trouble with a diffuser on top as well.
