My Scorpion is less than a year old and my run time is only a minute to 3 minutes, any ideas? Where can I et a replacement battery if I need.

Metrotex,

When you first got it how long was the runtime then?

From that time to the present, how many hours have you clocked in the scorpion?

Welcome to CPF........Try also contacting AW in the B/S/T dealer section. He's a battery and charger dealer.

Ya know I never tested it, I was was using it more than normal one night, usually I use it in small bursts and put it on the charger every once in a while to make sure it was charged. Then one night the cops were buzzing around the neighborhood and the police chopper was over head lighting up our house etc.. So I had the Scorp and my 9mm checking the back yard and it died. I had noticed I hadn't used it even close to an hour which is what it claims to have. So I started testing it, on the high end sometimes it'll go for a little over 3 minutes, on the low end under a minute. Also I checked my paypal history, I bought this less than 6 months ago in Sept.

Also the light on the walwart charger goes green after like 20 minutes, bad charger?

I think you can use 18650's in it with a short spacer if you don't mind having to charge them outside the light. I think it uses 2x 18650's put together with the charge receptacle inside - somewhere around here is some info on how to get the battery out as it's a little bit of a trick. Cells do go bad sometimes...

BTW I made a spacer for mine to use 18650's by just using a 3/8 bolt and nut (heads were about 9/16") cut off to the right length and shrink wrapped on the sides leaving the ends open.
