How about the new EagleTac 18650s?

EagleTac is now producing a 3100 mAH battery with a nipple top that should be suitable for their flashlights that use a mechanical reverse polarity system. Per Illuminationgear's website, it is using the Panasonic cell as a base. At $15.99 shipped, it seems like a heck of a good deal compared to AW, CK or Redilast. I wasn't sure if I should get these or the AW2200s for my EagleTac light but ended up ordering a couple. Is there any consensus on whether these are going to be great, okay, or junk?

I got two yesterday from illuminationgear and I can say they are about the same diameter as Redilast 2900mah but also just ever so slightly shorter, it looks the protection circuit on the ET is a little thinner. The button top design is clever and it fits and works in every "button top required" light I own.

Compared to my Redilast 3100mah the Eagletac 3100 is both smaller in diameter and shorter, for instance my RL 3100 will not fit in my ZL SC600 without somewhat forcing it but the ET 3100 slide in and out with no effort.

So I assume it's the same Panasonic cell used with Redilast and AW and as long as the protection works like it should than I can see myself only buying these ET 3100's from now on, they are smaller and have a button top to work in every light so for now I can't see why not.

I will look forward to some testing from those capable, maybe HKJ will read this. :)

I am reading it. My current battery testing queue will take about two months to test, i.e. I am not buying more batteries to test just now. If EagleTac wants to send some batteries to me for testing, they will go to the front of the queue.
