Hi,

How big is the Arc LS, when compared to the Infinity Ultra? I am currently carrying the Infinity Ultra would like to try out the Arc LS if its size is about the same as the Infinity Ultra.

I am considering either the Arc LSL or a second Arc LS (I am spending way too much $$$ on flashlights already /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif) from Arc's online store, but the $25 international shipping seems to be on the high side (38% - 50% of the light). Are there any other online stores that carries the Arc LS but with lower shipping charges? Thanks!

Spango,
The ARC LS is the same length as the Ultra, but it is
slightly larger in diameter. I don't know about shipping,
but I'm sure someone can help you. You will love the ARC LS!
I have had very good luck with the seconds.

Here's a pic from when I asked the same question.

I forget who originally posted it. But thank you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Dimensions of the LS with click switch are 3.2" X 0.95" so it's almost exactly the same length as the Ultra, but about 3/16" thicker. For an even smaller package, get the twist switch pack (as shown in Tree's post above) on the "seconds" page for $4.95. It's unanodized unfortunately, but it makes the light about 2.6" X 0.95". That's the pack I use.

While the ARC direct shipping is high, they also have the lowest price on the LSL-Standard. Also, the seconds are only available direct as far as I know. (Seconds have no warranty, and are grab bag, no choice of what you get.)

There are a few international dealers listed on their "where to buy" page.

Alternatively you might be able to pick one up in B/S/T forum by looking there or posting a WTB. Shipping should be much less than $25.

Either way, I highly recommend the ARC-LS. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Thanks guys for the input! I am this close to placing an order for the Arc LS, just that the expensive shipping is killing it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I understand that the international shipping is using FedEx International Priority shipping, right? This type of shipping is generally better than those used by other dealers right? Has anyone ordered using this form of shipping, and how long does it take?

Also, will the $25 shipping take 5 CR123 batteries? I usually try to 'maximize' shipping by ordering a couple of the $1 CR123 batteries as this type of battery is quite expensive when purchased locally in Singapore. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon23.gif

Last but not least, thanks for the input! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The shipping's expensive, but it's worth it. I ordered 2 LS seconds (LSLP's both...one great, the other so-so) with a couple of AAA's during the late, lamented $14 sale. It got to Australia in 3 days!!! I believe they can fit in quite a few batteries into the satchel too.

So I guess I recommend buying more lights to make the shipping proportionally cheaper.....I need /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/help.gif

But they DO make good pressies..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

spango, it should get to you within 3 days that arc ships out the package. and yes, you can add as much stuff as you want to it, and the shipping would still stay at $25, so you might want to get some arc AAAs, batteries, etc. what country are you from btw?

I am from the same country as you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

or better yet, spango, go manage a group buy with your friends there, so you can share the shipping. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

that's great! if you want you could organize a mass order, i might get a TSP-2AA to help you split up the shipping /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I don't think I have the time and (most importantly) energy to do a group buy.... takes a lot of coordination and effort... and I don't think there are enough flashaholic in my country... Maybe the place isn't dark enough... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
