 I was in Wal-Mart the other day looking at batteries and noticed something that did not seem quite right to me. The AA NIMA batteries had 2500mAH, the same as the much larger "D" cell NIMA batteries. Why don't the larger NIMA batteries have more mAH proportionatly?

A lot of local store C and D cell rechargables are nothing more than a AA rechargable in a larger package. You will need to go to a real electronics store (Fry's) or shop online to find higher capacity C and D rechargables.

Now if only there were Eneloop C and D cells... :)

Thanks for the information. It seemed kinda seemed dumb to me, because my first thought was, why would anyone want a flashlight loaded with "c" cell NIMHs that would have no more juice than the smaller AAs.

It was Energizer that I was looking at in Wal-Mart. What manufacturer makes them with a capacity that matches the larger size of "D" cells, and not with the same capacity as AAs?

Look at amondotech.com's Titanium line and the CTA cells available from sites like Thomas Distributing.

I'm sure there are more, but I'm lazy.

Higher capacity LSD C and D cells would be heaven. For now, I just use adapters.
