I have a really nice titanium bezel that I'd like to replace the old bezel with, but I can't figure out how to remove the old without FURTHER marring my light. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan

RPM sold some bezel removal tools for the M6 , may have some left. Other than that try a really good strap wrench. Also, some guys tried heating the bezel. It is not an easy thing to do though. PM sent.

I tried all the suggestions to be found on CPF with no success. The blowtorch method worked straight off. Keep moving the heat around the bezel where the thread is situated, I recall it took me about 20-30 seconds. As long as you keep the flame moving you shouldn't damage the finish.

Should mention that this method worked for me using RPM's removal tool

Yes, both heat and a removal tool make the job easier. I replaced the bezels on both of my M6's by using a hair dryer, strap wrench, and a removal tool from RPM. I heated the bezel up a few minutes before I attempted to remove it.

Hi Dan, I also received a RPM Ti Bezel for M6. I had also ordered a tool then the task was easier. Firstly, I had tried to take the bezel holding the things in my hand and aided by a spanner. That action resulted in a scratch on the stock bezel. :ohgeez: After all, I was excited with that beauty! :p

After it I've decided to hold the tool in a vise and then to fit the flashlight on it. I covered its head with a piece of cloth and so I used a plumber tool to unscrew the bezel. Success! I remove it easily and without any further scratches. ;)

Just to please the eyes:

Instead of using things like blowtorches, you can simply put the end of the bezel in some boiling water (the time depends on how much glue/locktite they used).

It's near impossible to mar the finish this way, but watch out for your hands -that thing will be hot (and a rubber strap wrench may still be needed)

The key to removing the bezel is to apply enough heat so that the loctite
loosens. Then use RPMs removal tool.

I recently removed the bezel from my M6. I boiled my M6 head in water
for 20-30 minutes before it would loosen.

Good luck :D

ALRIGHT guys and gals. I'll give it one more try... again. It looks like there is some kind of rubber or foam ring that sits between the reflector and the lens; I'd hate to melt this!

Updates to follow.

Thanks for all the advice everyone.
Dan
