hi all:wave:

well today i got my new red glo-toob fx in the mial, but i can not semm to be able to switch the modes on it. it started out on the 100% on, then i did as the instuctions said and turned it on for 5ive seconds then shut it of. but now i cant seem to switch modes so can somone please help me. i have been sitting here for over an hour scratching my head looking at the instructions and still cant get it.

BTW now when i turn it on all i get is the "throb" mode, and i cant get it to change, so can somone please help me change the channels.

Make sure that when you leave the light on for five seconds and shut it off, that you then immediately turn it back on then off then back on...you will then end up on the next mode. Sometimes I need to leave it on for 5sec and off a few times to get it to switch. Once you do get it to come on another level, turning the unit off then back on will change to another mode so on and so forth. Leaving the light on for 4 seconds before pressing the button again will "lock" the light into that mode.

If you are only getting the throb you need to turn it on for five seconds then turn it off. This will unlock the mode you have it on, then turning it on and off in one or two second bursts should cycle you through the various settings. Once you find a setting you like just leave it there I believe for 5 seconds or more and that setting is currently locked in. If I am wrong forgive me I just got my first glo-toob yesterday and it did take me a few minutes to figure it out.

ok so i am now starting to get it. i have been able to get it to cycle twice now. and i didnt know you had to unlovk it.

thanks for all the great advice and i could still use some more as i am sure there is somthing more i didnt know.

I had an FX for a little while...forget who posted it, but you can tap the light on the palm of your hand to through the different modes in the "unlocked" condition...then you can lock it into your chosen cycle. It's much quicker than the on/off/on/off technique.

there are new versions coming out this February using the more standard cr123a batteries.

but, for your needs, the more important information is that supposedly they will be clickies, which should make changing modes easier. (although it might have some relative disadvantages regarding diving uses).

i have tried the "tapping" thing but for me i have to hit it farley hard and it starts to hurt after a little while, so the twsity will do for now till i get me a clickie.
