How does one know they are at level 1?

Hi,

Just received my Arc4+ second in the mail /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Do they normally come set at level 1? Unless I am doing something wrong, when I hold the button down after turning on the light, there is no difference in power. It is pretty bright, far brighter than my Arc LSL, and way whiter too.

Any input would be appreciated. I will be spending some quality time with the Arc trainer and videos to learn more. However, even if there was only one level to this light, it would still be worth what I paid for it given the thickness of the lens, quality of build, etc. Impressive!

Go to the brightness menu and try all levels /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, primary mode is factory-set to level 1, so until you go into the brightness menu and change it, the light won't appear to have a boost mode. Try changing primary to level 3 for good results /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Yes, it arrives with high set to level 1. Now go ahead and play with the brightness menu like kj said. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

A quick way to check if you are at level 1 is to hold the button down for full power. If the does not change brightness or flicker, it is already at level 1 (full power). If it changes, you are at some other level. It it flickers (changes and then quickly goes to a lower level), the battery can't handle level 1.
