How long run time: LD, unregulated, 2D

I just put together probably the cheapest luxeon mod I ever have. It is SO simplely put together. But that is beside the point. Anyway, I just hooked it up directly to 2 D size batteries (so output is what you'd get from a Reactor). There's a small, modest heatsink, although I don't know if there is much need for a heat sink when one only uses a 3 volt power source. The question is, what would the runtime be for such a setup?

I could help you estimate. D alks are about 7x the capacity of AAs at low drains, so multiply the life of the Inretech mod by, say, 5 to be safe.
I imagine it will strongly depend on how low the Vf of that specific LED is.

quite a long time still.

one of my 3d mods ran for well over 2months before i gave up on the run-time test. i was just using regular duracells also.
