My E2e-SG arrived today! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy23.gif A big thank you to akula88 for making it possible. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif
Now I can see why people like the E2e. I already have a L4 LumaMax body, and quite a number of other SFs, but this is DEFINITELY one of the better looking ones. I dunno, but somehow I really like the SG/GM finishes, they look so much nicer than the olive drab finish. I buy HA3 when the light has to take everything life can dish out.
There is a slight color mismatch between the head and the body which is more obvious in real life than in the photo, but that does not detract from the functionality of the light. The teardrop bezel is the classic E2 style bezel without clip, it's a nice change from the newer E1e/E2e style bezels. Speaking of the clip, the clip is the same color as the normal E2e/E1e clip. It would have been really nice if SF had made the clip silver as well, but that's ok.
I never really thought I was into the new 2-sided "rounded flats" ones, but after this one, I think I've changed my mind. The lettering is very well executed and it does look better than the older lettering. I have an E1e and L4 body with older lettering.. somehow not as impressive. The wider flat area on the other side is also more forgiving on fabric when you pocket clip it. It fits the V25 holster (intended for the 6P, et. al.) very well, although the holster is a little large. You can either clip it to the side or just let it free float.
Beam quality is impeccable as would be expected from any SF (P90 perhaps excluded... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif). It produces a huge amount of light for such a small flashlight, and it weighs considerably less than the 6P or the C2. Now I can see why the E2e is definitely one of CPF's "must have" lights. Glad I got mine in a more unusual color.
