One of my McClicky just stopped working suddenly & I have no idea what causes it.
It was working fine the day before & when I tried to turn it on, my flashlight just won't budge.
After troubleshooting a little, I found out that the problem was with the switch.

When switched on, there is an internal resistance of 2-3 ohms instead of the usual 0.0xxx ohms.
All my usages are below the 5A mark, so I don't think that I am misusing it.
And this switch should be less than 1 year old & not my main workhorse, so I don't believe that it is faulty due to excessive usage.

So I am wondering if anyone can share what are the ways that a switch can be damaged (other than wear & tear)..
Thanks alot in advance.

Since your McClicky is fairly new I would guess you might have simply received one that had a factory defect. It does happen with all products. They are pretty well sealed so contamination would be difficult unless it has been subjected to fluids. A McClicky has dielectric grease inside. I know this for a fact since I have opened one up.

Prior to it breaking down completely, I noticed that there was always a slight flicker when I activate the switch.
It is usually just before the switch hits the 'clicking' point.
It did not occur to me that something was wrong with it because it was working fine for me all these while.

Yeah, i agree..
I have plenty of those switches & only 1 malfunction. So I'm pretty cool about it.
