How to disable PAL Survival Light \"always on\"?

My PAL light only sees occational use, so I'd rather have it completely off to save battery, than having the always on locator light. Does anybody know how to disable that. Thanks

not positive, but i think the new palights allow you to do this.

send them an e-mail and ask!

hold the button for a few seconds and that enables and disables the always on feature

James Meyer, (former?) president of PALight used to hang around here more. He's a busy guy, I think he owns several companies. Anyway we had him in chat once and he said the always on feature takes nil battery life. We're talking the battery will self-discharge at about the rate of the LED. Instead of trying to disable always-on I'd try and find a place where it could be useful, like pointing upwards from a night-stand. The nil ammount of light it puts off is non disturbing to me, and I need a tomb to sleep in, yet if I do have to get up in the middle of the night my dark-adjusted eyes can use the light to see shapes more easily in the dark.

What Saaby said...I use mine exactly like that. It sits on my nightstand and shines at the ceiling or the lampshade depending on my mood.

I have bought a couple of dozen of these and given away many to kids in the family. In the last several months nobody has run down a battery. Someone mentioned putting a piece of tape over the battery terminals in order to store a PALight in a survival kit...I know your not looking for this solution...just an FYI.

I'm curious to see if holding the button does disable the always-on feature. First I'd heard of this. I'll have to try it when I get home.
