How to modify a MagLite (3D)

Sorry for my bad English, but I'm a German pupil. I searched for some Tips to modify a Maglite and found this Forum. Have you got Tips, how to make the Maglite brighter? I put Bicycle-Tube round the Grip and screwed a Clip on it but the light is not bright enough for this big light. Please help me with cheap (as cheap as possible or I could better buy a SureFire) solutions like Xenon-Lamps or something.
