I need help removing the bad switch from the tail cap of the Sure Fire L6. I flipped open the rubber boot and saw the plastic retainer ring with cutoffs around it then tried to rotate it with tweetzers but no luck.

Thanks,
Tanasit

I would not recommend opening a Surefire clicky as these are warrantied for life by Surefire.

If you are determined to open it, see AW's thread (version A) https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/213751

Also, it helps to loosen the loctite by dipping the switch in boiling water. I recommend putting the switch in a ziplock bag prior to the boiling water.

I saw the thread but it's for the different one. Anyway, with 2 strap wrenches and a tool to remove the wrist watch case back I managed to take it apart. The gunk inside seems to be the silicone gasket stuff. I replaced the switch with only a few modifications with the AW version B which works with my led module fine.

Thanks,
Tanasit
