do you mean the main lead?
yes they can be deans JST and all that, but if you crosswire the charger you only "require" the one balancing lead untill you start charging or discharging faster.
deans is the | - connector good for major power, Polar, again easily available.
there is crosswiring info in this thread
http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=290403
it is for 4S but applies the same way.
For MY main leads i chose deans, because the charger came with them, and i just hacked some of the other stuff to get them for free. there is no limitation on the type of leads you could use, just prefer ones that cant short out on the battery side.
anything else your not understanding , your gonna have to draw me a picture
or take a picture of what your trying to do.
over the ages, it didnt matter what freaking connection jacks or plugs i put on battery packs, i never did get a standard, and i have 6-8 stupid adapters now, each time a new one would come along, after a while i started putting Aligator clips on them, and that didnt even last, now i use bananna plugs on the adaption plugs. Here is the list , RCA, 3.5mm, Futaba, JSt, Deans, Cig lighter, USB , Molex 2x style molex 4X , bannana , Din 2 din 4 , Round, 3.5, 5.0, 5.1, Round 5.1 reversed polar etc with the round plug, this year sony mixed it up again with small pin in the center, now the balance connections for series li-ion. and that is just for Power. adapting and getting jacks for plugs is just a neverending stupid thing. if i could Pick ONE, and they would stick with ONE universal i would be so happy.
the basis still stays the same, coupla wires that connect, ease of disconnection or even breakaway, wires correct for polaity, color coded, and cant be badly shorted via the battery, a fuse shoved in when nessisary.
