At least that's what my wife says.

I'm not so sure I rate. After buying a few LED units, like my favorite Jet MX1, and second favorite Jet-III M, I have to say that I still like Xenon and Halogen a bit better.

Outside they look better to me. My Streamlight SL20 with the 35X lamp just lights everthing up to my pleasure.

What is wrong with me?

Actualy, I carry a Fenix LD30 everyday, and it is great.

But I just love the 35X beam. So sorry.

Why does liking Incandescents not make you a Flashaholic? Not to start another Incan vs. LED debate but if anything Incans are more hardcore then LEDs "before LED fanatics hunt me down, let me explain!" The way I see a flashaholic is someone who loves flashlights so much they are willing to go so extreme that what they do with their illumination tools are deemed "unnecessary" by the geranial public. While surfing the wave of new and improved LED lights while they become smaller and more efficient, us Incan guys will go to some pretty crazy extremes for or beloved old school lights. Few men will venture into public with a M6 or Wolf Eyes M90 with 18650 extender on their belt, or pocket EDC an 6P type light that will only run for 6 minuets while nearly setting things on fire with it's beam:duck:. For these lights are deemed "unnecessary" or "unpractical" by even LED flashaholics:poke:, so we are the flashaholics of flashaholics:D:thinking::p. Not to say you can't get by with a reasonable "normal" powered Incan and love LEDs to, it's just for some of us that would be too easily:whistle:.

ah men to that.
i carry my surefire L6 with a mod'd P7 around everywhere and people think its unneccessary. I also carry a small pelican case full of aw17500 and cr123 just incase a major emergency happens. And in that case if it does happen... who'll be crying then.
by the way, does collecting all the surefire M3 size lights make you one? because i'm almost there! just an m3t body and i'm done! lol

led tradeoff is less brightness and its positives are dimmability and less current draw
(all starting to change, but thats it now)

powered halogen - like the ones dealt with in that sub-forum - give sheer power, with the tradeoff of runtime (or physical size and weight of the light)

both has their uses

Here's my thoughts on this.

When I decided to "thin the herd" and sell a few I wanted to set a target of a "reasonable" number of lights to have. I chose 20 - then as I started to count I had to decide that well the Pelican Super Sabrelight (3 x C) in the glove compartment of both vehicles don't count. I did count the 3C MAG with the malkoff drop in - heavy stainless bezel, lanyard ring and window breaker tip - that is jammed between the seat and the console.

I ended up changing my target to 30 lights (note that target was only for purposes of determining how many lights to sell - doesn't preclude me from buying more without selling). I get phone calls from "flashlight friends".

Checking into a Hilton Garden Inn during a power failure and using my McGizmo Mule placed on it's tail on the beer tap to light the bar REALLY tipped me over the edge. I went through 4 rcr123s that night! Halifax airport HGI - I changed my profile to low floor after climbing 5 flights with luggage after signing bar tab. FYI the electronic locks work (at least 4 or 5 hours into the power failure) and note the importance of making a reservation - the "keys" were made prior to the power failure & room numbers printed out.

My name is Neale & I am a flashaholic.
