I just bought this thing a week or so ago.
A couple of days ago I needed it, and had it with me, after a deer hit my car.

Tonight, I went to a friend's house, and they had lost their dog in the woods. Looking for something in the woods would convince anyone the L4 is an incredibly useful light. The wide, even white beam made it easy to see everything in the woods.

But, before I had this flashlight, I can't remember needing one some frequently. It must be causing the bad luck. So, I guess I need to throw it away. Just kidding of course, but it really has paid for itself in utility in just a few days of owning it. Also, as I am typing, I am recharging the Pila 168S, rather than replacing 2 more Lithium 123s. These two items ought to be bundled for sale together.

The more interesting flashlights you get, the more interesting ways you would find to use them...

Seems to be the norm for getting a new light...

What the heck happens if I buy a space needle - the power grid for entire state drops off line? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ohgeez.gif

I find it's not so much *needing* a flashlight all the time, but everything is so much better supplying my own light. Anyone might be able to navigate that parkinglot in the dark, or that stairwell, or find that screw in the carpet. But with a light, things become so much easier. Especially lights without holes in the beam. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

NO hole in the beam is BIG BIG deal.
My friend had a standard light, and we really never saw spider webs with it. When I turned on the L4, we could instantly see all the spider webs in the forest. None of them were seriously poisonous, but the webs were and spiders were huge. These webs weren't the ones that feel like a couple of strings on your arm and face. These were more like a fishing net, maybe like that spider Gillian found in one episode.

I agree. I even run beamshapers on almost all my daily-use lights, to spread out the beam. So much easier to use when aiming isn't critical.
