Yes, I tried the buckwheat pillows, but switched over to a Tempurpedic one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
I also tried their matrasses, but didn't like them, I guess I'm used too much to my waterbed. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif
The best CD I've ever found for inducing sleep is "A Day On Cape Cod: Summer Rain". It's 60 minutes of rain, with no thunder or other distracting sounds. When I used to work the Graveyard shift, I'd come home and set the CD player to repeat for however long I wanted to sleep. It's a pretty near perfect CD for relaxing, and inducing sleep. Good luck! -- Bob
2.5 mG melatonin has worked for me...chamomile tea sometimes..on occasion 25 mG doxillamine succinate...(in Sominex and other OTC meds)...and...go early get up early..no caffeine after 12:00. Sometimes a glass of wine after ten.
The cure may not be one thing but the problem might be....
Stress will negate all of the above. Geting stressed will also screw you up in several other ways and the problem is the more you worry about sleeping right the more you add to the stress. It's like walking on a 2X4. You can do it no problem on the ground...but 50 ft. in the air it's a major deal. And saying it's only in your mind does not help.
I know..I have "White Coat" syndrome. My BP goes up around medical personnel. But I also know it can be dealt with. I had this one elderly lady who used to take my blood and she would talk to be while she did the questions and took my blood pressure and it would always be right on.
Sine she is not around I have a tough time...even though I know it is OK the more I think about it the worse it gets.
Stress is never all in your head but you can find the solution in your head once you identify it.
If you are over 25 years of age... Melatonin may be good for ya. After age 25 in men.. the Pineal gland slows down on production of melatonin. Taking supplements may help prevent this slow down...or increase production again.

I'm kind of afraid to ask, but what's "Horlicks"?
[/ QUOTE ]
Horlicks is a malt drink that you make with milk (an alternative brand is ovaltine).
You will get it in any supermarket in the UK. It is occasionally advertised on the TV, and is marketed as an aid to a good nights sleep.
Basicly you add three of four teaspoons (heaped) to a mug of warm milk, and give it a stir. The way I make it...
Add powder to a mug of cold milk, microwave for 1 min full power, stir, another 45 secs full power in microwave.
This drink is better than milk on its own as the high malt content gives you that full feeling (thus preventing hunger keeping you awake) without leaving you bloated.
