Thanks to all you guys and gals, since October 2012 I've bought the following lights: Klarus RS11, another Pelican 7060, Streamlight Pt2AA (120 version), 2 energizer tactical 1AA's, Nitecore MT1a, Pelican 2360 (returned- too ringy), cheap defiant tactical 1aa (for wife), and a couple of 3aaa lights for the kids. I want another.
All aa lights only get fed eneloops.
Here are my needs/wants:
I like the blueish tint and balance throw/spill of mt1a but wish it threw farther and the turbo mode kills runtime.
I love the beam profile of streamlight pt2aa, but wish the body was thicker.
I have my eye set on the Nitecore Mt2aa and 5.11 Atac A2. My reservation on the mt2aa is the runtime. http://light-reviews.com/Flashlight-detail/nitecore-mt2a-review-2/. I use max mode a lot. The runtime and regulation looks pretty good, but will I get 1.5 hours at 70 percent if I run turbo for 2 minutes here, 10 there, or was this graph done by being left on for the duration of the test. I know it reduces output to prevent overheating. Hope this makes sense because I use the mt1a mostly in short durations of turbo mode and reviews state 1 hour and 12 minutes to 50 percent but I only get about 30 before turbo and high appear the same brightness.
now the 5.11 a2 has the 1" diameter body that I'm looking for, plus it looks plain awesome. I assume the color and beam projection is close to my streamlight which I'm fine with. However, I'm looking at the runtime on the 5.11 and it steps down in output so quickly with the intention of runtime. Is this light realistically going to run at 70ish lumens for the majority of battery life? Is this thing still going to be an effective, bright light for the 3 hours? 163 lumens, 4300 cd sound great, but not for that long. The streamlight is regulated for 2 hours at 75 percent and I can't tell much difference in throw and brightness until its starts flickering at the very end. Love that regulation.

cliff notes: adore the regulation of pt2aa but dislike the thin body. Love the color and throw tint of mt2a but think turbo modes drain too much juice. The 5.11 has 1" body, looks great, but confused on its regulation. Want 100 yards throw, 2 hours bright runtime at max where I can't tell output is fading. Prefer tail button and UI like pt2aa or the 5.11. I'd get the surefire el2aa in a heartbeat but the low/high interface isn't for me.
If there is another light which is better than the Mt2aa or 5.11 A2 I love to hear recommendations. Budget $100-130. Wife will only let me get 1 so no "just get both" replies.
