I plan on getting either one of these chargers and need feedback from the members here........I have an rc charger that i have been using but want something dedicated to AA's and AAA's for my lights. I was going to get one of each or just get both of the same. Please tell me your thoughts on these two only.lovecpf

I've been toying between these two chargers for a bit as well. I ended up choosing the BC-900 for the display (displays info for 4 cells as opposed to scrolling through the info for each cell on the MAHA) and the "freebes." Mine should arrive today via FedEx so once I get in there and fiddle with it, I can give you a better user report on it. Both are great chargers from what I read so I don't think you can go wrong with either one. The MAHA has a better warranty (3yrs vs. 1 on the LaCrosse) if that factors in your decision.

The warranty does'nt matter at all with me......yes the batts would make or break my decision as well since i could always use more nimh's. Yes please post back when you get the chance since i plan on getting two of the same, or get them both. lol But i would like to know what users think, my order goes in tomorrow with Thomas Distributing.

Re: Thomas

...as a note, if you order early in the morning before 8AM CST (though that link seems to disappear earlier than that), Thomas has the "early morning special" where you can add 2 eight cell holders for "free" though I think it adds $.30 to shipping total.

Oh, and when you get to checkout, you can save about a buck by choosing the discount shipping (as opposed to letting them choose the shipping method. It says it will take an additional 2-4 days for goods to arrive but mine still came Fed Ex 2 day.). I love to save a buck :)

I used to have both; recently gave my BC-900 away to my brother as I no longer used it. I prefer the C-9000 for the following reasons:

1) better quality
2) better charging current selection (100 to 2000 ma in steps of 100)
3) better discharging current selection (100 to 1000 ma in steps of 100 )
4) has a break-in mode
5) does not automatically recharge the batteries after doing a discharge
6) does not heat up the batteries as much at higher currents
7) defaults to a more reasonable charge rate (1,000 ma instead of 200ma)

I would also recommend the MH-C9000 for the reasons set down by rickd.

Incidentally, WiredQube, a member of the CPFMarketplace, is offering forum members a 5% discount and a genuine Powerex model MHS-CC150 bag with the MH-C9000:

They are also shipping the most recent version of the MH-C9000, and the last time I checked, their shipping fees were also somewhat less than those imposed by ThomasDistributing.
