This was a very potent combination. I have been using the Minimus for work and chores but never for anything recreational. I really can't add to what has already been said about bright floody headlights, but what I can say is it does not have the light defraction interference that some have complained about. When its on your head you don't see the emitter. The unit fell out of regulation and it was pretty obvious. It started strobing until I turned down the intensity to a level the regulation circuit liked. I really like this headlamp.

The M60 MC-E was fantastic. It lit up everything in front of me out to 30m and had easily a 20m spread. The color rendition was good. When in the brush the diffuse beam did not kill your eyes with glare. My wife knew I was returning to camp by the amount of light I was outputting. I ran it for about 15 minutes straight at one point. The tail cap on my C3 was warm by then. The bezel was still cool enough to touch your cheek with. I did not check the batteries. My guess is they were warm as well.

This is a very potent combination. Flood to the Max!!!

Thanks for sharing.

I've been looking for a reason to get out in the dark and play with lights but haven't been able to find one outside of work related stuff... Think I'll take my black lab out along with my M6 tonight since I probably won't be camping anytime soon.... I'll probably freak the neighbors out a bit

I had a M60W at one time and it just wasn't for me. The MC-E is to my liking. For throw give me a turboheaded Surefire. My wife even packed a light without my prompting! She loves her Ion, hmmmm, I wonder where she got that?! Camping with a few favorite lights is soooooo much fun.

For my next campout I shall take my, Aeon, Minimus, C3 w/M60 MC-E, and 12ZM. That should cover all the bases.

I spend a lot of time in Baja Mexico where with the help of my friends have put together a beach side camp consisting of a 40' Trailer, 45' shipping container filled with toys and 19' Fishing Boat. We commute via a Cessna 182 and land in the dirt and park the plane next to the shipping container. This location is very remote located 90 miles south of San Filipe on the Sea of Cortez. It is a very dark and scary place after dark. I being a flashlight nerd makes this a wonderland to play with my lights and Gonzaga Bay BC is the perfect location to do just that. My carry light is a Surefire C2 with a Nailbender MC-E 3-level regulated drop-in and FM-34 Diffuser. Boat and deck lights consist of 4 Rayovac SE3DLN Sportsman Extreme 300-Lumen. I throw a Glo-Tube Lithium strobe on the dash of the Cessna so no one walks into a wing or the prop. When night fishing we carry a Power On Board HID Rechargeable. Tell you what; the POB HID is one intense thrower. Great light. I prefer the C2 with diffuser over my Malkoff MCE because it offers the best of both worlds. Flip the diffuser and you have a thrower, closed you have a wall of light. Great walking around in the dirt light. I have a few Surefire "E" lights with F04 Diffuser and clips for instant head lights. Just clip one on the bill of your Baseball cap. The Malkoff is definitely a great choice for path finding. Let's anyone or anything know you are coming, that's for sure. Another cool little camp light I recently acquired is the Fenix MC10. You can attach this versatile little light to almost anything and it makes for a decent head light as well.
