I am so happy with this light! It fits nicely in my shirt pocket next to my pen- makes it very easy to carry everywhere. It is light, clean looking and very bright. I find the UI just right- need more light? Tap- Medium. Need even more? Tap- High! Very bright, clean beam. Just right.:twothumbs Way to go 4-Sevens!!

+1

In my opinion the preon makes an excellent light duty edc, because it is so simple to operate, has an excellent beam pattern, is easy to carry and quick to actuate. Looks pretty, too.

I agree.. the Preon II is addictive. I use it as a EDC light at work. Fits right in my pocket alongside my pens.. I wouldn't know it's there unless you told me.
(Simple is good..)

Looks great too - mine is in the blue finish. I got the kit, but spends most of the time in 2AAA Clicky form. It sits next to my pens, so is ready for use anytime, and I agree with the others - great beam and KISS UI makes it a winner in my book.

Great.. now you guys have gone and got me amped to get the one I ordered from 4 sevens. :shakehead Its in the mail. And its the weekend. *sigh* Thanks guys...

I loaned mine out for a week- I sure did miss it

Wish I could say the same. Bought a Preon kit. The 2AAA body has a tailcap that rotates in place. Just gives the light a feeling of being cheap. Thankfully, I have a Preon I body that I can use with the head.

The whole tailcap or just the cover with the 47's logo on it ? If it's just the cover that's perfectly normal - it's supposed to rotate.

The actual switch mechanism is underneath - the aluminium cap with the 47s logo on it is just a cover, it isn't part of the switch mechanism itself.

The cap is there to give it a nicer appearance than a rubber boot but if it rotates that shouldn't affect the switching.

I'll admit the logo looks nice. But having a cover that rotates in place just gives the light a feeling of being cheap. I know it's a good penlight. But the cover makes it feel cheap.
