Don't cry about spilt milk. Think about what I did to a brand new sf L4 I used a heat gun to soften up the lock tight to do a mod to it and did not know that it was getting to hot until the reflector started to bubble up.
by the way I finished the mod and it still works ok but just think how much better it might have been if I had used
my IR thermometer to check the temp. Heres a good Idea go

You could re-expoxy new emitters on to the boards and solder them up but if you ask me it's worth $1 to not have to hassle with that, you could end up melting the led lens if you soldering iron slips while soldering them back on!

I'd like to look at one of the fried blues under my microscope. I bet I could see something damaged.. You should send the rest to Doug S if you don't need them.

Goofs are a necessary evil. Gotta break some eggs, ya know. You should see my Surefire spare parts box of Surefire heads that I destroyed trying to mod them.

I spoiled one Luxeon star 1W so far. Trying to rip the emiter off the heatsink by some knife I just riped the black plastic cover with the lens. It was my first Luxeon and it was Q3J. Then I got the idea to search this forum to get some clue. I wish I did it before /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
