Where is a good place to go to get a good read on LEDs and transistors/resistors/diodes/heatsinks and what everything does, how they work with one another to produce a circuit that can safely power an LED effeciently.
Basically i am trying to get into the business of making more higher end emergency vehicle lights such as those seen in police and fire vehicles.
I work as an emergency responder for the FDNY in new york and i find all types of emergency lights and how far they have come in technology over the years very intriguing and recently have been making waterproof LED lights that a pretty nice and bright in my garage like shown below but i want to advance past the simple one LED paired with one Resistor. I want to move on to later generation LEDs with reflectors.
So where can i go to learn how all these parts work and more importantly work with one another? I figure if i am going to invest a few thousand dollars in this then i should atleast know the basic mechanics of the system.
