OK guys, I saw the upgrade kit at the recent International Association of Chiefs of Police show in Denver. In a word - AWESOME! Just as I heard... replaces the factory bulb and bezel in 5 seconds with a 1 piece aluminum unit. Looked like about 140 lumens and had strobe. Same size as the factory unit. No changes to anything except the bezel. Had a set of 'dead' batteries (would not light a bulb) and with the LEDbezel it came to life at about 90 lumens. They say it runs 4 hours with a 'boost' 2 hours in... drains every last penny out of the 123s. I am told its up on www.tactcialleds.com front page.
Saw some cool other products at the show... Smith & Wesson was showing a tiny 90 lumen pistol light that is smaller than the TLR-3... looked amazing on a subcompact! Front load battery (Cr-2 runs for 2+ hours) and unique simple method of mounting to the rail with a universal latch bar. I think its gonna sell for like $75 street price.
