Wow, I just saw this topic.. I used to see stalls like that when I was living in HK, but I wasn't really into lights back then..

Anyway, I guess I could take some photos of the stores in Akihabara here in Tokyo - they look pretty impressive if you know electronics..

Graham,

I was just at Tokyo start of Feburary, and went to Akihabara I should've taken some photos, but those store owners didn't look too friendly... Even the HK stall owners didn't seem friendly, I only took these photos when they weren't looking.

Hey, yclo, Graham,

Akihabara, the big electronics district in Tokyo - (Graham, that's the place I was thinking of, remember ?)
Can I *Commission* you 2 to do a Travel Feature Topic, on Akibahara and HK, a few photos, describe the shop windows etc. etc. From the little I've seen, it's an interesting place.
People, we've never had a *travel* topic before.

I'll see what I can do. I don't think I'll be able to do it until the weekend after next, though, as I'm off to Osaka for a week so I won't be in Tokyo next weekend.

Anyway, I'll do my best (not saying much since the place is pretty big, and I'm not much of a reporter

I can help with the info, but not the photos cause I've Uni's started and I'll be in Melbourne for the next few months.

hey Yclo,

when I see this heap of batteries, I wonder if you ever thought about using rechargeables? I will never understand those people who need flashlights frequently. Why don't they (you?) use a type which can be powered by rechargeable batteries? Think about the waste - not only about the money you spend, but also where these batteries will end up!

Greetings

Wolfgang,

What's the fun in that?

But I got these batteries in HK, and took them with me to Australia. Not that many places sell these kinds of batteries in Melbourne for a cheap price.

I have an E2 and recently aquired a M3, so I'll need the supply. Funny thing is though, I don't *really* need a torch. I just like the idea of controlling darkness..

I don't use my lights on a regular basis, so recharable wouldn't be that appropriate.
