Yes, I managed to forget to tick the option about adding a star board on cutters web site so I'm now the prowd owner of seven bare xp-e r2's which I need to fix to a 35mm diameter ally heatsink. I've had to order an optivisor just so I can see the solder pads. The plan at the moment is to "shim" the emitters at the edges using razor blades and fix them with AA epoxy. I think I'm correct in saying the thermal pad is electrically neutral so as long as I isolate the + and - bottom pads from the sink this should work with a very very thin layer of AA. How thin a layer should I go for, and is the razor blade technique likely to work ?
