Look who's questioning spending big bucks on a flashlight. Why, it's JonSidneyB, the really devoted flashaholic who puts us pikers to shame.

Please understand, I'm not putting you down. I am in awe of your devotion to getting the best.

Re: I\'m a Surefire man!

I'm not a surefire fanatic, but I have to admit that they have some really cool stuff. Like the A2. Man, I think that, if I had to choose one light for all tasks, this would be it. I know that streamlight has the twin tasks. I have a couple of these too, but that A2, with the regulated incand is tough to beat.

There are many good lights out there and it is my objective to have them ALL. But, if I was to have to name a single manufacturer that did the best job of having all bases covered, it would have to be Surefire.

Paul>I know your not putting me down at all...and I would never tell anyone to not spend alot on a light. Currently, the lowest price light that I ever use is an Arc-AAA. I would say that 80% of my light exceed $100

Re: I\'m a Surefire man!

My favorite light right now is an E2e with modified KL1. The original KL1 was purple, replaced the LS with a Q3J, and it's bright and white. I have a couple of 5W LS's, but the runtime is poor, heat is an issue. For all-around usage, the E2e/KL1 is fantastic - good throw, good spill, long runtime, bright enough for most tasks, walks, etc. I do wish someone would come out with a NiMH 3V cell the size of a 123, with a decent mA rating! I'm tired of buying 123's, all my other lights run off AA NiMH's.

Re: I\'m a Surefire man!

I don't think that any Surefire could replace my LSH-P. I love the quality of this light and the fact that I can use AA NiMH batteries in it and use for free.

Re: I\'m a Surefire man!

Rob,
I'm with you on the KL1 for general all around use. I love my KL1's. I just got the beam shots on the KL1's that I had overdriven from CM. Man, if you haven't tried this, you've gotta. Good compromise between brightness and runtime.

Pi,
You can run the KL1 using a UBH. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif And you don't need to use an adapter.
